digital painting?

I'm just beginning to tap into the possibilities of this photo editing stuff... I've been playing with all the different tools and palettes, using mostly my own photos. A kind of digital painting? This portrait isn't for sharing that much, but it was a breakthrough of sorts in that I'm starting to get excited about this new direction.

walking partner

I am one very happy Walker nowadays. We are in week #3 where Inday is walking with me everyday! I've been walking for so many years now that I've been able to take her on a different walk/route every time we go out. Yesterday, we walked south on the sections of the Green River trail that have been sand-bagged/blocked off for the last few years. And yesterday we did the Eagles Nest park in Burien. Her favorites so far are Coulon Park in Renton, Lincoln Park in West Seattle, and the Riparian Forest and Springbrook Trail walks in Renton.

'exhausted'

That's what my camera just told me. I was taking some dusk photos of the Space Needle, and it stopped working. The battery wasn't just tired. The exact words were 'Battery Exhausted'...

Work-out

Just finished my morning walk. Late start today because I worked out for the first time at our Tukwilay Community Ctr. 'Seniors' can use their Fitness Ctr for free on M-W-F mornings. Started with the rowing machine today, and I hope to add things as I get better.

Wow...I posted the following 3 photos, and the 'Bunnies' post, with my phone when I was on my morning walk...

You can't click on the photo and get a larger image,
but that's probably a good thing considering the editing
I do sometimes with my regular camera images...

Bunnies

People started dropping off their pet rabbits along the river trail around a year ago, and I noticed a black one and then a white one. Then a little later a little itty bitty black one appeared, then a white one, some polka dots... This seaon, there are more gray ones, and less of the old timer brown ones.

Smartphone

Trying out an app I found this morning. I have these periods of time when I don't post things here, and I like this option. I might do my own version of a 'What am I doing now?' app.

connections

Enroute to W Seattle for my Mom visit last Tuesday, I saw this flat bed truck carrying several huge metal objects. I looked closer and decided that they were boat propellers, some very large propellers! I had just finished some prep work for some wiring I'm doing at home, and I chuckled at the "L" and "R" notations on the yellow ones towards the front of the truck bed. I thought about the black wire/white wire...connections I had been working on. Same principles, different sizes, and you for sure wouldn't want to get them mixed up.

gauze

It's amazing how good it feels getting up a few hours later! Inday started at 6am today, not the usual 4am, so it meant waking up at 4:15 instead of 2:15. Yeah! Even though I technically have the same amount of time before my Tues visit Mom routine, it seems like I gained a lot more. Because I got more sleep, I'm not walking around with the feeling that I have gauze wrapped around my head, and I'm getting all kinds of things done! Again, yeah!

stuck in the Haj

I am first and foremost a 'walker', but there's something magical when I go for a bike ride like I did this morning. It's just so smooth, and I can ride through, or fly through 3 or 4 of my regular walking routes in one riding session.
This morning I rode south along the Green River to Ft Dent and the Southcenter area, up to the LRT station on 99, and then I turned back north in a kind of loop ride. I actually coasted much of the ride back down the International Blvd (99) to our house. Cool, literally...
I thought the Sounders had some kind of soccer thing happening when I got to Ft Dent, and I didn't realize it was some kind of Muslim event until I found myself in a river of Muslim families on the bike path exiting the park. It felt like I somehow got stuck in the Haj...
ps - the last day of Ramadan...

river of fire

This is a procession that is part of Cebu's Sinulog Festival. It's Cebu's main annual festival, and we will be able see this "river of fire" from our condo...
